Tyre-rific! 21 years of excellent service

In June 2000, Richards Bay Tyres opened its door for business for the first time. Our humble beginnings, however, dated back five generations ago when, in 1962, our great-great grandfather acquired a Bandag franchise to retread tyres with a unique cold process rubber.

The retreading of tyres with the Bandag Cold Process became an art and passion for the Janse van Rensburg father and sons. Through a legacy of shared vision and a long-term commitment to becoming stewards for future generations, they extended the values of the family to create a family culture in which their values are sustained in the business and the wider community.

In October 2009, the Mabaso family, with Amalande Tyres, joined the Janse van Rensburg family and Richards Bay Tyres. This once strategic relationship evolved over the past decade into a strong family and friendship bond. We are tied to each other through sharing common goals, skills, professionalism, transparency, collaboration and are being united by mutual respect, shared values and purpose.

Each member of the next generation of the Janse van Rensburg and Mabaso family develop the needed skills and commitment to move the legacy forward. We do this not by slavishly doing what our parents have done, but by innovation, reinventing, seeking new opportunities and learning from challenges that emerge.

In the last decade, our companies owed much of its success to the know-how and innovation of our employees.
