ENTRIES are now open for the 2021 Spar Women’s Virtual Challenge, a virtual run, jog or walk taking place on Saturday, 4 September. Athletes have from 6am to 6pm to complete the challenge at their own pace, anywhere in South Africa.
Themed #LiveLimitless for 2021, the event calls on women to recognise how many obstacles they have overcome in spite of the limitations of the past year.

Every year, thousands of women participate in the Spar Women’s Challenge races and associated fun runs.
Owing to Covid-19, last year Spar launched its first ever virtual challenge.
Along with the virtual challenge, Spar is bringing back the prestigious Spar Grand Prix series, giving some much-needed support to South Africa’s professional women runners.
Ensuring a ‘limitless’ future for all, proceeds from the Spar Women’s Virtual Challenge will benefit the Spar Petals Project. This donates packs of sanitary pads to underprivileged girls, to prevent interrupted schooling because of a lack of access to these basic necessities. This year’s challenge ambassador list includes familiar fan favourites, and some new ambassadors who will get South African women excited about the challenge.

Spar Women’s Virtual Challenge details
Entries cost R60, which includes a virtual race pack.
This consists of an official T-shirt, access to the My Virtual Challenge digital magazine, a buff and a medal.
