THE SA Navy offshore patrol boat, Isaac Dyobha, made an impressive entrance to the Port of Richards Bay on Saturday morning.

Previously known as the SAS Frans Erasmus, the vessel was renamed after the Reverend Isaac Dyobha, a chaplain in the SA Native Labour Corps who died in the sinking of the SS Mendi in 1917 (source: Wikipedia).

Originally a Warrior Class fast attack craft, the vessel was modified to suit the purpose of surveillance over our national waters.

The reason for her presence in the area is not known.
