Post office in eSikhaleni reopens

'The SA Post Office is pleased to announce the reopening of most branches that were temporarily closed, following extensive negotiations with landlords'

After months of closure owing to a rental dispute, the Post Office branch in eSikhaleni reopened its doors to the public yesterday (Monday).

The local branch, which closed in February, was among several in the country that halted operations amid talks with landlords over outstanding payments for rent and services.

‘The SA Post Office is pleased to announce the reopening of most branches that were temporarily closed, following extensive negotiations with landlords.

‘Customers are therefore welcome to visit these post office branches for collecting parcels, paying car licences or doing other postal transactions,’ said Post Office spokesperson, Johan Kruger.

‘All a vehicle owner needs to renew a car licence is his or her identity document and a completed renewal form, which can be downloaded from the Post Office website: www.postoffice.co.za

‘The form is under the domestic products button.’

He said, in order to eliminate long waiting times, the Post Office has introduced separate queues for different transactions.

‘This also serves to eliminate crowding and ensures that Covid-19 regulations are adhered to,’ said Kruger.
