New library to benefit Jozini community

KZN MEC for Arts, Culture, Sport and Recreation, Hlengiwe Mavimbela has urged the KwaQondile community outside Jozini to protect their new library against vandalism.

Mavimbela, together with Jozini mayor Delani Mabika, handed over a modular library in ward 7.

She said the library will benefit six primary schools and five high schools in the area.

‘The library can accommodate 60 people, and offers resources for pre-school children, all the way through to tertiary students.’

Mavimbela said access to information through libraries is a basic human right protected by our Constitution.

‘Libraries matter, especially now when the country is battling the Covid-19 pandemic that compels us to have limited public gatherings, which affects learning’, said the MEC.
