EXPRESSION OF INTEREST: Hillside driving services – 042021

Interested parties should preferably be from the King Cetshwayo District

Hillside Aluminium requires service providers to provide logistical and operational support to supervise, drive and operate the following vehicles:

  1. Specialised cleaning equipment (vacuum trucks)
  2. Pitch tankers

The service provider will utilise Hillside-owned equipment for these services.

KEY FUNCTIONS PER SCOPE OF WORK

Each vehicle type represents a separate scope of work and operational requirements.

  • Specialised Cleaning Equipment (Vacuum Trucks): Hillside has three (3) specialised vacuum trucks to service the plant. One (1) truck operates on a 24/7 basis, whilst the second truck only operates during the week (Monday to Friday) on a 24/5 basis. The third truck will be on maintenance and standby. The prospective operator should have previous experience in the operation of industrial cleaning mobile equipment.
  • Pitch Tankers: Hillside imports pitch, which is stored in storage tanks (4 x 2000t tanks) at their Harbour facility in Richards Bay. The pitch is used in the Carbon plant at Hillside’s premises. There are 2 x 300t pitch storage tanks in Carbon that are used for the storage of pitch. This requires the shunting of pitch from the Richards Bay Harbour facilities to Hillside. Hillside requires a minimum of six (6) daily loads to be transported from the Harbour to site, to maintain the silo levels. The service provider will be required to operate, fill and transport the tanker from the Hillside Harbour facility to the Carbon plant, where the tanker will need to be discharged into the tanks on a 24/7 basis.
