Another Horings & Dorings festival for Hluhluwe

The Horings & Dorings Hluhluwe Festival is going ahead! Set to take place on the weekend of 30 April to 2 May at Zulu Croc in Hluhluwe, Horings & Dorings promises to be a fun-filled weekend for the whole family. Covid-19 regulations will apply, to keep everybody safe. Your safety is important!

Entertainment for the weekend include live music, stalls, a Ngweni cattle show, snake & croc shows and a Kids Zone. Enter the Mr and Miss Ananas beauty pageant on 1 May. All entry fees for the pageant will go towards Hluhluwe Paws & Claws.

Visit the Horings & Dorings stage to see artists such as Appel, Fatman, Desmond Wells, Marius D, Mona-Lee and local artist like Steven, Priscilla and Sondela live in action. Brings the kids for some fun on the inflatables, boeresport, paintball target shooting and other fun competitions inside the Kids Zone.

Hluhluwe is pineapple country and therefore, all fresh pineapple sales for the weekend will go towards the Burre Burger Drought Relief Fund to aid farmers affected by the nationwide drought. Burre will be at the festival as well.

Adventure

For the adventurous spirits, there will be a Farm Jam, fun MTB, fun walk and fun run. The Farm Jam is a fun, technical 40km track for dirt bikes, quad bikes and side-by-sides. This will take place on 1 May with registrations from 7am, the briefing at 8.30am and start at 9am. Registration forms are available at www.dirt-zone.co.za.

Pre-entry costs is R300 per rider and R450 per side-by-side rider, which includes entry to the Horings & Dorings festival and all shows for Saturday 1 May. A R50 penalty fee will apply for one the day entries. For more information, call Leon Badenhorst at 082 945 7356.

Hluhluwe Private School will host a fun MTB fundraiser on the Sunday, 2 May. There will be a 9.6km MTB race (R80 per rider), as well as a 24.5km race (R120 per rider). The registration and briefing will commence from 7am, with the race starting at 8am. To register, contact the school at 035 5622082 / 083 661 7664 or admin@privaatskool.co.za

Sunday 2 May will also see a 5km fun run and walk taking place at Zulu Croc. This will be presented by Hluhluwe Primary School. Dress up as your favourite super hero or villain and be there at 7am to register! The event will start at 8am. Entry is R15 per person and there will be medals for the first 100 finishers. Tickets

Entry to the Horings & Dorings festival is R120 for adults and R80 for children under 12, for each respective day. On Sunday 2 May, entry will be free.

Only 30 VIP access tickets to Rafiki Restaurant are available, which includes a gate ticket, a drink of your choice and a snack plate. For Friday, 30 April, the VIP ticket will be R300 (3pm – 11pm) and Saturday 1 May it will cost R500 (11am – 11pm). Please book these tickets by 25 April with Alicha at 082 340 5798. These tickets will not be sold at the gate.

This year there will be secure parking, at R10 per vehicle on the Friday, and R20 per vehicle on the Saturday. If you’re planning to travel far, why not stay over in Hluhluwe for the weekend. Book accommodation now to avoid disappointment!
