THE Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is this week and next week holding a rabies drive during which rabies vaccinations will be offered to all pet owners.
It is a legal requirement for all pets to be vaccinated annually against this dread disease.

Rabies is on the rise in the King Cetshwayo district, and throughout KZN.
In March alone, a total of 11 positive rabies cases were recorded in the district, with a further three suspected cases last week, which were all dogs and all in uMhlathuze.

12 April – Wombane, Vekeza
13 April – Mvuntshini, Nhlabo
14 April – Ncinyane, Nyezane
15 April – Nsingweni, Moyeni
16 April – Ophindweni, Obanjeni
19 April – Enkanini, Mathibeyane
20 April – Saron, Emawosheni
21 April – Samungu, Mombeni
22 April – Salvation, Ezingwenya
23 April – Bumba, KwaJazi
