A TRUCK fully laden with steel poles veered off the R34 in Empangeni earlier this (Tuesday) morning and overturned, landing in the bush adjacent to the road.
The accident occurred in the vicinity of the R34/N2 intersection, on the Richards Bay-bound carriageway.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that as the driver was approaching the traffic lights, he attempted to reduce speed, and the truck swerved off the road and rolled, landing on its roof.
The driver escaped with no injuries.
