Police manhunt for Nkandla murder suspect

The suspect has been on the run since 2018

AFTER securing a warrant of arrest in 2018, Nkandla police are still trying to track down a murder suspect who is on the run.

Muzi Zakhe Zuma is believed to have been involved in the murder of Bafisani Dlamini (27) of the Ezindlozini area in Nkandla, who was shot once in her left shoulder on 1 January 2018.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbhele, said on the day of the incident, Dlamini had been enjoying herself with her family members when she received a call from Zuma, the father of her child.

‘She allegedly left to meet with Zuma, but never returned. After a while, her mother went to look for her and found her in a pool of blood close to their homestead.

‘A case of murder was opened at Nkandla police station for investigation and Zuma has been on the run since then. A warrant of arrest was issued by the Nkandla Magistrate’s Court on 23 May 2018.

‘We urge anyone who might have information as to his whereabouts, to contact the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Themba Ndlela on 072 2287582 or 035 8330053. Alternatively, they can contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111,’ Mbhele said.
