Richards Bay licensing department to reopen

Operating hours are from 7.30am to 2pm and all services will operational

AFTER closing its doors on Thursday owing to staff members testing positive for Covid-19, the Richards Bay licensing office will reopen tomorrow (Wednesday).

The office, including the waiting area at the Civic Centre, has been decontaminated and cleaned.

‘Affected staff members who were quarantined have been confirmed to be safe in terms of prognosis and health protocols.

‘Operating hours are from 7.30am to 2pm and all services will operational. Those who were allocated dates for their learners licence assessments will be called and furnished with new dates,’ said City of uMhlathuze Communication Manager, Mdu Ncalane.

Residents have been urged to adhere to all health protocols, including social distancing, sanitising and wearing of face masks covering the mouth and the nose.

‘Customers must also note that a number of Driving Licensing Testing Centres (DLTC) are closed because of Covid-19, thus creating delays in a number of licensing processes since it utilises one national system, eNatis,’ said Ncalane.
