Fortunately, however, there are many memory care activities that can help boost cognitive function and ease symptoms.

Listen to music

Music is a powerful tool for those living with dementia and is an excellent memory care activity all year round.

Music is often closely linked to memories and emotions, and those who have trouble remembering what they did earlier in the day may still remember all the words to their favourite songs perfectly well.

So, put on some classic Christmas tunes or golden oldies and enjoy!

Get crafty There’s nothing stopping you from including that loved one in decorating the house this Christmas.

Help them with simple craft activities such as making a wreath, decorating a stocking, or painting handmade cards.

These are great memory care activities that keep those with dementia busy while stimulating their brains.

Cook or bake some seasonal treats

If your loved one enjoyed cooking, a dementia diagnosis shouldn’t stop them, provided there’s assistance.

Customise this memory care activity to make it easier and safer for your loved one.

Holiday-themed memory care activities promote health and happiness, providing a better higher quality of life for those requiring specialised care.
