Covid-19: Empangeni home affairs office closed owing to positive cases

The office will resume services on Friday, 18 December

ALL staff members at the Department of Home Affairs Empangeni office have gone into quarantine for ten days, starting today (Tuesday), rendering the office closed for the duration of the quarantine period.

It was reported yesterday that one member of staff had tested positive and that all working in the office must be quarantined.

Members of the public needing to make use of Home Affairs’ services must use the offices in Richards Bay, eShowe, eSikhaleni and Nkandla until the Empangeni office reopens on 18 December.

This comes after the Richards Bay police station was closed for 12 hours yesterday, owing to a positive case.
