According to Simelane, the programme is aimed at empowering the youth by giving them driving skills and ensuring they get valid licences to help them gain employment.

Recipients were identified through ward councillors, the Youth Council, civil society and the disability forum.

‘The children of any nation are its future. I’m standing here with much joy to see especially young black women that will benefit from this programme.

‘I urge each and every one of you to take this opportunity and use it wisely,’ said Simelane.
