Flush funds to support Bay CANSA fundraiser

The challenge aims to raise funds for the CANSA Relay for Life next year

THE Richards Bay CANSA Care Centre has rolled out its ‘Loo Challenge’, which encourages businesses and individuals to ‘flush’ funds into their programmes and campaigns by keeping the purple loo for a week.

The challenge – which aims to raise funds for the 2021 CANSA Relay For Life (RFL) event on 27 March next year – will see organisations hosting the purple loo for seven days, during which time they’re challenged to raise R1 500.

Sponsored by Aquatap Richards Bay and branded by Alistair Seconds and Amanda Stoffels, the ‘collection loo’ is placed at the entrance of businesses for maximum visibility.

Those ‘flushing funds’ also stand a chance of winning if they take a selfie with the loo, and post it on Facebook with the tag ‘CANSA Richards Bay’.

First to take on the challenge is Bolt Centre in Richards Bay. Owner Roy Travis hopes to raise awareness after having lost family members and close friends to the disease.

‘We’ve made the R1 500 donation and appeal to locals and other businesses to support the cause further while the loo is at our premises this week,’ said Travis.
