Anglers flock to the north coast shoreline

Shallow waters have served up snoek while the middle-depth water range has thrown in a combination of tuna and couta

THE north coast shoreline was like an only child last week, getting all the attention from local anglers.

Deepsea men have fished the waters at Cape Vidal and Sodwana as these areas have been producing large numbers of game fish.

The shallow waters have served up snoek, which are being caught off fillet baits and small-lipped lures, while the middle-depth water range has thrown in a combination of tuna and couta.

The lipped lures are working the magic at the moment for the tuna.

Deeper water points have seen billfish, tuna and dorado roaming the area, all falling victim to lipped and skirted lures.

Rock and surf anglers have had their hands full dealing with the giants that have been on the hunt, while drone anglers have been filling their bags by getting their baits out into deeper waters.

Throwing a fresh mackerel bait into the deeper water points will definitely open your summer account with a nice sandy or honeycomb.
