Wife and son arrested for eSikhaleni businessman’s murder

The victim's body was found with multiple stab wounds

A WIFE, son and a man suspected to be the wife’s boyfriend, are in police custody for the murder of an eSikhaleni businessman whose body was found last week.

The three were arrested after the body of the 43-year-old victim was found with multiple stab wounds by residents in eMzingwenya Reserve in the oGobandlovu area last Wednesday morning.

The mother and son were arrested in the area and the alleged boyfriend apprehended in Mtubatuba.

They appeared in the eSikhawini District Magistrate’s Court last Monday, where the case was postponed.

The accused will remain in custody while the matter is being investigated.

The victim was a well known businessman from the area who owned multiple rental cottages.

His murder, and those of others in recent weeks in the area, are of concern to the community.

Two weeks ago a 36-year-old woman’s body was found by residents next to the Bhambatha hostel.

She had several stab wounds and indications are she was sexually assaulted.

Last week the body of a 25-year-old male with five gunshot wounds was found by residents in the eMadaka area.

No arrests have yet been made.
