Sunday, 25 October: Pongola and Richards Bay gather to protest against farm murders

Both the Richards Bay and Pongola communities will participate in a Black Monday peaceful protest against farm murders, which will be held on Sunday, 25 October.
The Richards Bay participants will gather at Veldenvlei community hall and will proceed towards Meerensee.
A cross will be planted at the R34/R619 intersection before the procession continues on to Meerensee, planting a second cross at the entrance to the beach area on Davidson Lane.
The Pongola community will gather at 11am at T-junction (R66) on the N2.
In the ‘no farmer, no food’ campaign, organisers will not tolerate any racism nor the flying of any old flags.

Saturday, 31 October: Don’t miss the month-end Steel Bridge Market

THE monthly Steel Bridge Market in Richards Bay is set to take place between 8am and midday on Saturday, 31 October.
There will be a variety of stalls selling various items including delicious eats, arts and crafts, bric-a-brac and books.
The market will be held at its usual site near the steel bridge in Meerensee.
No mask, no entry – all Covid-19 protocols will be observed.

Second Market Meander around the corner

AFTER the success of the inaugural Market Meander, the organisers are thrilled to announce the second market, scheduled for 31 October.
The market concept revisited to take Covid-19 regulations and social distancing into account, the market is spread out around Richards Bay.
A list of vendors can be obtained from the Market Meander’s Facebook page and all stallholders will display banners outside their venues on the day.
From clothing to jewellery, arts and crafts, cakes, other eats and drinks and many other items, the market promises something for everyone and a wonderful opportunity to do some Christmas shopping.

Saturday, 7 November: 6th Hluhluwe farmer’s market around the corner

THE next monthly Hluhluwe farmer’s market is scheduled for Saturday, 7 November.
All are welcome to attend this monthly market which is taking the Hluhluwe area by storm.
Scrumptious food, coffee, fresh fruit and vegetables, jewellery and other items, ideal for Christmas gifts, will be on offer.
This, the sixth monthly market will be held from 8am to 11am at Sibayeni Nursery, opposite Ilala Weavers, on the R102 just outside Hluhluwe town.
