Angry Ingwavuma tavern patrons cause damage
Tavern patrons began throwing bottles at the SAPS vehicle when police arrived at the premises
INGWAVUMA police have registered a case of malicious damage to property after a group of patrons from a tavern damaged a police vehicle yesterday (Sunday) morning.
Police arrived in two vehicles to attend to a complaint at the tavern at Ohlalweni area.

‘When police arrived at the tavern, patrons ordered them to leave and started throwing empty bottles at the police vehicles, which resulted in a window being broken.
‘Police fired four warning shots into the air to disperse the crowd,’ said uMkhanyakude cluster police spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Mdletshe.
No one was injured in the process and no arrests were made.
