INVESTIGATIONS are under way into yesterday (Wednesday) evening’s shoot-out at Mandeni taxi rank in which one person was killed and a further eight critically injured.
The shoot-out occurred at about 5pm, which is peak hour when there is heavy traffic – both motorists and pedestrians – in the area.

The video depicts the intensity of the shoot-out which, according to paramedics on scene, left the taxi rank ‘resembling an active war zone’.
A security guard was killed on scene, a further seven security personnel were critically injured while a member of the public also sustained critical injuries.
