As Covid-19 cases continue to rise, Richards Bay SAPS urges residents to call for queries and avoid visiting the police station where possible.

Richards Bay SAPS Communications Officer, Captain Debbie Ferreira, said SAPS is currently open and providing services at the Community Service Centre (CSC), attending to crime-related complaints, emergencies and visible patrols.

However, citizens are discouraged from visiting the premises unnecessarily.

‘SAPS will respond to calls for emergency and crime-related matters, and residents are urged to come to the police station only when absolutely necessary, such as to report a crime or in the case of an emergency,’ said Captain Ferreira.

‘Our health and safety are of utmost importance, hence the extra precautions taken to preserve the health of our essential service staff and residents visiting the station,’ she said.
