ODA has maintained a relationship with the facility for many years, offering support with donations, contributions and sustainability initiatives such as vegetable gardens.

Visiting the organisation last week, Elders Roland Forbay and Clinton Hunsley also spent some time helping the youngsters in the garden where they have planted vegetables to help sustain the home.

‘The children are eager to grow their vegetable gardens, and any donations of seedlings will be highly appreciated.

‘They have already prepared the patches and have much land on which they can plant a variety of crops.

‘As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to impact all sectors of society and communities, we are supporting the ‘one home, one garden’ initiatives that have been rolled out, and we are urging every household to get involved.

‘Anyone who would like to support this drive can make donations, which will be used to purchase seedlings at R1.50 each.

‘A date will be announced when sponsors can join us for the handover and planting of the crops,’ said Forbay.
