Covid-19 awareness campaign continues in Mbonambi

The campaign is spearheaded by a group of community members

A CAMPAIGN to educate residents on the Covid-19 pandemic and the importance of adhering to health protocols, was recently rolled out in Mzingazi.

The awareness campaign, which began in some parts of Mbonambi last month, is being spearheaded by a group of community members, who have also undertaken the task of disinfecting bus stops, taxi ranks, churches and other public facilities.

‘We formed a Covid-19 combat initiative group, and in partnership with the KwaMbonambi Traditional Council, engaged with all relevant stakeholders to ensure risk areas are regularly disinfected and people are educated and supplied with masks and sanitisers,’ said team member, Thubalakhe Nxumalo.

‘Our focus is to cover all nine wards under the KwaMbonambi Traditional Council,’ he said.
