Rob Bentele manages to feed ten families with food parcel donation

SOUTH Africa’s Survivor Island of Secrets winner Rob Bentele recently commandeered his family and his Mahindra XUV300 and delivered food parcels to needy families in the Emakhambane area, outside Mtubatuba.

The 29-year-old events videographer recorded himself donating the parcels to the locals, which resulted in the launch of the nationwide initiative #riseforgood campaign.

The former Felixton College pupil came up with the idea during a family discussion and said that this was only the beginning of what he has planned.

‘During early Level 4 lockdown, my local community was starving and it was impossible to help everyone, but we channeled what resources we had to those most in need,’ said the former Empangeni resident.

The kindness and generosity of Rob Bentele’s donation was sincerely appreciated by all involved

‘We chose the rural area where my mother grew up and I documented my story in hopes that I would inspire the everyday person to do what they can.’

Rob managed to provide 10 families (five members per family) with food parcels which included 10kg maize meal, 10kg rice, 5kg sugar, five different tin foods, Cremora and coffee.
