Truck driver arrested at Golela border post for dagga dealing
Dagga was found to be hidden among the truck's delivery load
AFTER attempting to flee into Swaziland, a truck driver was arrested on Thursday and charged with dealing in dagga.
This after the truck was stopped at the Golela border post on Wednesday as part of a routine police stop-and-search exercise.

‘The truck was transporting a substance used in the manufacture of soft drinks, but on closer inspection parcels containing about 11kg of compressed dagga were found ,’ said SAPS provincial spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbele.
The 23-year-old driver was placed under arrest, but while the scene was processed, the suspect fled in the direction of Swaziland.
‘Police gave chase, but the suspect entered no man’s land,’ said Mbele.
After an intensified investigation, the suspect was found and arrested on Thursday morning.
He faces charges of escaping from custody and dealing in dagga.
