OPERATION ‘Let’s build gogo Gumede a decent home’ is in motion.
Community members are on a mission to build a decent house for a family of 10 living in a dilapidated one-room mud shack in eSikhaleni’s J1 section.

The campaign to provide the family with proper shelter is spearheaded by the Umvuzomuhle Foundation, led by founder Mkhuseli Buthelezi.
The family’s terrible living conditions came to the attention of the foundation during a recent food donation drive in the area.
‘Ten people sharing space in one room is not how people should live,’ said Buthelezi.
After the visit, the foundation approached donors to help build the family a house.
‘The current structure is not safe and criminals can walk in at any time. The young girls are vulnerable and the structure could collapse at any time.
‘We call on individuals, organisations and business people to extend a helping hand and contribute towards the project.’
