LISTEN: Abandoned newborn found in Isithebe
The baby was exposed, hypothermic and still attached to the placenta
A NEWBORN baby, found abandoned in bushes in the Isithebe area, is receiving urgent medical treatment to ensure its survival.
IPSS Medical Rescue earlier this morning (Sunday) received a call informing of the tiny infant, which was found alongside the river in dense bush.

On arrival, the baby was found to be still attached to the placenta.
The baby was exposed and hypothermic.
Paramedics stabilised the newborn on scene before transporting the baby to a nearby hospital for further urgent care.
