Stolen cattle recovered in bushes

The Zululand stock theft unit was following a tip-off when they recovered the stolen animals

THE Zululand Stock Theft Unit recently recovered 24 cattle during an operation.

Police spokesperson, Captain Nqobile Gwala, said the focus was on areas in Kwankungu, Hlobane and Paulpietersburg.

‘Police followed up on a tip-off about suspects who had been spotted herding stolen cattle in Kwankungu.

‘When the police arrived, the suspects ran into nearby bushes. Ten cattle were found in the bush,’ said Gwala.

‘The team also proceeded to Eastmine in Hlobane where 14 cattle had been stolen.’

Gwala said the recovered livestock were returned to their rightful owner.
