Temporary shutdown of Ulundi electricity supply

All residents who are on the municipal electrical network will be affected

OWING to the decommissioning of a mobile transformer and the commissioning of a mega 20MVA transformer by Eskom, there will be a total power shutdown in Ulundi from tomorrow (Tuesday), possibly until Thursday.

This announcement was made earlier today by Ulundi Municipal Manager, Nkosenye Godfrey Zulu, who said all residents who are on the municipal electrical network would be affected.

‘Residents, businesses and government employees should ensure that all appliances are disconnected to avoid possible damage resulting from a surge of power during the switch on,’ he said.

‘This interruption will guarantee a marked stability in the electricity network, which will benefit the community and protect future developments.’
