The Youth Club is based in Ward 16 in Babanango, and is made up of orphans from child-headed homes in the area.
‘I have been working with these children for years. They are knitting hats, jerseys, scarves and masks.
‘We do not have sewing machines. They are doing all this with their hands. They are skilful and they make a living out of their handiwork. I am grateful for the support shown by the Ulundi Municipality,’ said Gazide.
‘These skilful young women do not have any source of income and mostly go to bed on empty stomachs.
‘I am delighted that our mayor, Cllr Ntshangase, took the initiative to interact with local businesses to ask for donations so that we could help the needy.
‘We are here today to hand over what local businesses donated to us.’
