Miss South Africa pageant applications are now open, but because of the coronavirus pandemic this year, the pageant will opt for a virtual selection process.

Last year, the Miss South Africa organisers put the entry process online to make it easier for aspirant contestants.

Eliminating forms and regional auditions seem to have worked well.

This year, with the national lockdown in place, virtual entry will rule out travelling and long lines for auditions.

To enter, hopefuls can visit the Miss South Africa website www.misssa.co.za, complete a questionnaire and upload photographs from their Instagram, Facebook or Twitter profiles.

Entries close at midnight on 31 May.
