‘It was after 4am when he left me in bed to go out. He was still wearing his pyjamas and I thought he was going to the outside toilet as usual.

‘After a few minutes, I decided to go out to look for him. I walked around the yard and checked the outside toilet, but could not find him,’ she said.

Tembe said she also thought her husband could have gone jogging.

‘He used to jog every morning since we entered lockdown level 4.

‘I started panicking when I discovered the gate was still locked and his running shoes were in the house. I started calling his friends but none of them were aware of his whereabouts.

‘I then decided to inform my parents-in-law and the family about his disappearance,’ she said.

Tembe said they reported the matter to KwaMbonambi SAPS and had looked everywhere for him.

‘We have consulted various sangomas but all my efforts are in vain.

‘I appeal to anyone who might have information about him to come forward and inform the cops.’

KZN provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbhele, confirmed that a missing persons docket was registered at KwaMbonambi SAPS.
