Two suspects arrested for Nkandla vigilante murder

The arrests follow an incident on 25 April in the Ezinyosi area, near Nkandla

KZN police commissioner, Lt Gen Khombinkosi Jula, has commended police officers for the arrest of murder suspects and the recovery of unlicensed firearms.

The arrests follow an incident on 25 April in the Ezinyosi area, near Nkandla.

The local community descended on the house of burglary suspect, Fihlokwakhe ‘Nono’ Dludla (52).

He was not home at the time, but the community found stolen property in his house.

Most of the stolen property was identified by the owners and community members later tracked down Nono to where he was hiding.

He was severely assaulted and shot as he tried to flee.

Police found Dludla’s body in the bushes and a case of murder was opened for investigation at Nkandla SAPS.

On 6 May, Nkandla detectives followed up on information about two suspects believed to have been involved in the murder. They were tracked down and arrested.

They were found to be in possession of two unlicensed firearms and four rounds of ammunition.
