KZN COGTA MEC tables report on forensic investigation into allegations of corruption at Zululand District Municipality

The report was tabled at a virtual council meeting

ZULULAND District Municipality has 21 days to revert to COGTA MEC  Sipho Hlomuka on the implementation of the report on a forensic investigation into a number of serious allegations at the municipality.

The report was tabled today (Thursday) at a virtual council meeting and includes a number of findings relating to allegations of fraud and corruption by several senior officials and councillors in the district.

‘We are committed to investigating all instances of wrongdoing, including fraud, corruption and maladministration within municipalities, that are brought to our attention,’ said Hlomuka.

‘We conduct a multitude of investigations simultaneously and report on their progress to the Provincial Legislature on a regular basis.’

Hlomuka urged the council to act with haste in addressing the issues contained in the report.
