Newly promoted police officers in Mtubatuba

The move is part of a crime-combating campaign aimed at reducing criminal activities in the area

NEWLY-promoted Mtubatuba SAPS members have promised to give their all in rooting out crime.

The police station promoted its members from the ranks of constables to sergeants and detective warrant officers.

According to Mtubatuba police spokesperson, Captain Justice Hlabisa, the move is part of a crime-combating campaign aimed at reducing criminal activities in the area.

One of the upgraded members, Detective Warrant Officer Cyril Myeni, said he welcomed the promotion and was looking forward to the new challenges.

‘It is going to be a long journey for me, having started as a constable, slowly moving up the ladder to this position.

‘This will challenge me the most because, as a warrant officer, you have to manage your staff while at the same time are expected to deliver,’ he said, adding that he learned a lot from Station Commander Colonel Mthokozeni Mpungose, who taught him to respect his work.
