The Mondi mill in Richards Bay produces two key products: Baycel, a premier grade bleached hardwood pulp made from 100-percent eucalyptus fibre, and Baywhite, a white top kraft linerboard.
Pulp is used in toilet, tissue and hygiene products as well as in the packaging of other daily essentials. Linerboard is used to produce packaging for essential food and pharmaceutical products.
As part of these vital value chains, Mondi SA takes seriously its responsibility as a provider of essential goods to our country. Mondi’s Forestry and Richards Bay operations will therefore continue to be in operation during the national lockdown.
