Explosion leaves eSikhaleni residents in the dark

BOOM!

The sound of a loud explosion echoed across the rural section of eSikhaleni last night when an electrical transformer exploded at around 7pm.

The resultant power blackout affected residents of eMadlankala, Dube Village and eMzingwenya.

Shops were immediately closed as half of the community was left in the dark.

The reason for the explosion is still unknown, but Eskom technicians are currently working to fix the problem and ensure residents have electricity during the national lockdown.
