Covid-19: Richards Bay patient status explained

The learner has recovered from the illness

TESTING negative for coronavirus along with her family members, the Richards Bay Primary School Grade R pupil who was positively tested as the city’s first confirmed case, is now in the clear.

The results of the other pupils who were tested have also returned as negative.

‘It was not a false positive in the first instance,’ said Dr Wim Watson of the Caredoc practice.

‘The laboratory actually tests two samples of every patient to ensure certainty.’
