Stolen cattle found hidden in the bushes near the Swart Mfolozi River in Glückstadt

A POLICE tip-off led to the recovery of stolen cattle taken from the Glückstadt Farm last Monday.

The Zululand stock theft task team followed up on the lead and proceeded to the village area near the Swart Mfolozi River in Glückstadt, where the stolen stock was found hidden in the bushes.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbele, said their team recovered four Bonsmara cattle tied up with their four calves next to them.

‘While police officers were herding the cattle, an additional two stolen cattle were also recovered in the same vicinity.

The stolen stock was positively identified and handed back to the lawful owner,’ she said.

‘Police are still looking for the suspects and we have intensified our operations aimed at fighting livestock theft in the province,’ she said.
