The Zululand Observer has a vacancy for a Copywriter / Content Creator

The Zululand Observer is looking for a Copywriter to join our Sales Department.
You will be expected to write anything from paid-for advertorials, to feature content, copy for advertisements, social media teasers and online campaigns, sales pitch documents and letters to clients.
The ideal candidate will be a professional, yet creative individual with strong writing skills across multiple platforms. The candidate must also have an excellent grasp of Public Relations and the principles of marketing.
Requirements
- A degree or diploma in Public Relations, Communications or Journalism
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the media industry or similar environment
- Strong English writing skills across multiple platforms and in various tones
- Experience in Public Relations and a good understanding of the principles of marketing
- Professional, presentable and able to sustain excellent client relations
- Solid knowledge of Wordpress and SEO optimisation
- Proficient with key social media platforms, ie Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter
- The ability to adhere to strict deadlines and work well under pressure
- A fast worker that can deliver quality work on very short notice
- A good team player that also performs well independently
- Willing to work weekends and after hours
- A valid driver’s licence and own roadworthy transport are compulsory
- Photographic skills and in possession of your own camera, or willing to purchase one
- You must live in Empangeni / Richards Bay or be willing to relocate
