Eskom announces load-shedding implementation

According to Eskom, this comes as a result of unplanned breakdowns, coupled with a loss of additional electricity generation

THE City of uMhlathuze has confirmed that Eskom has implemented stage two load-shedding with immediate effect, from 4pm until 11pm today (Thursday).

According to Eskom, this comes as a result of unplanned breakdowns, coupled with a loss of additional electricity generation.

Stage two rotational load-shedding is necessary to prevent a total collapse of the power system.

The severely constrained system is the result of high levels of unplanned breakdowns that have exceeded the 10 500MW limit.
