THE Richards Bay Ski Boat Club on Tuesday morning had a surprise visit from one of the resident hippos in the area.
Coming ashore via the club’s slipway, the hippo spent some time grazing and wandering around the premises before slipping back into the water.
This is not the first time ski boat club members and staff have had close encounters with hippos.
Last year two were fighting on the banks of the canal, right outside the club’s perimeter.
