What's on in and around Richards Bay and Empangeni

THIS weekend boasts a variety of entertainment, community and shopping events throughout the region.

From the March for Jesus tomorrow (Saturday) morning to the twice-monthly Richards Bay SPCA market day and an underground market, Zululanders are indeed spoiled for choice.

SATURDAY, 11am – Join the first Street Spot ZA underground market at Moola Centre (The Space Base) in Empangeni. Zululanders can enjoy an extensive variety of halaal soul food and desserts, delicacies from the Middle East, kids’ activities, craft work as well as craze selfies. SATURDAY, 9am – 1pm – The twice-monthly Richards Bay SPCA market is being held at its Meerensee premises where all the charity shops will be open. From books to clothing, delicious eats, jewellery and household items, you will be spoiled for choice as you browse the stores.

SATURDAY, 10am – Miss and Mr Mzingazi auditions at Mzingazi Hall in Richards Bay. Auditions will be done in two groups – 8 to 16 years and 17 to 26 years. Dress code is blue jeans, plain white T-shirt, heels and formal shoes for males. For more information call 079 2432930.

THURSDAY, 21 NOVEMBER, 7pm – The King Cetshwayo Theatrical Society presents a Kwasukasukela and Umlando Session at the Bon Hotel Empangeni – a one-man show Gogo’s Boy featuring Wellington Makwakwa. Tickets are R100 and for bookings call 081 0197976.

 

FRIDAY 6 & SATURDAY 7 December – Dance Incorporated presents the Rhythm and Pulse show at Arboretum Primary School. Friday’s performance will offer cinema seating at R60 per ticket and Saturday’s show will be table seating and will cost R140.
