Man found killed in KwaMsane

It is believed that the deceased had been killed somewhere else before being dumped at the scene

A 36-year-old man was found dead at Gunyaneni reserve, near Nyalazi River in KwaMsane last Wednesday night.

According to KwaMsani Police, the deceased was found half naked, wearing grey short trousers. He had two open wounds on the forehead.

The KwaMsane police spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Mdletshe, confirmed the incident.

‘It is believed that the deceased had been killed somewhere else before being dumped at the scene where the body was found,’ Mdletshe said.

‘A distance away from the place where the deceased was found, police recovered a vehicle suspected to belong to the deceased, and possibly used to transport the deceased from the place where he was killed to the place where the body was found,’ said Mdletshe.

The following day, the police found out that the deceased was an Empangeni resident who had a girlfriend in KwaMsane.

‘We managed to meet with his relatives. The deceased was a lecturer in Durban and he was using his girlfriend’s vehicle when he visited her in KwaMsane.

‘He left his girlfriend as if he was returning home, but it’s alleged that later someone saw him in the car with two other men. He was apparently not driving the car. That was the last time he was seen alive,’ police said.

Capt Mdletshe said no arrest has been made yet. Police are investigating a murder case.
