What’s on in Richards Bay and Empangeni this weekend

WITH stacks of entertainment to choose from this weekend, there is no reason for anyone to find themselves at a loose end. From markets to the annual CANSA Relay for Life, a fun-filled comedy show and delicious cupcakes on sale in aid of Cupcakes of Hope, no one will want to miss out on these social events.

Saturday, 9am – Cupcakes of Hope will be celebrating National Cupcake Day by selling cupcakes to raise funds for a variety of charities. They will be stationed at Boardwalk Inkwazi Shopping Centre, opposite Woolworths. All cupcakes will be sold at just R10, so don’t miss out!

 

Saturday, 9am – 1pm – The Richards Bay SPCA monthly market is on again and all are invited to attend. Come search the various shops for bargains of all kinds, from books to children’s toys, bric-a-brac, household items and, of course, delicious eats.

 

Saturday, 9am – 1pm – The monthly Steel bridge market has many stalls for shoppers to browse, including clothing, books and bonsai trees. Visit the market at its usual site near the steel bridge in Meerensee.

 

Saturday, midday – 8pm – The hugely popular ZMSC night market is being held at the Zululand Multisport Club in Meerensee. Come with your cash ready to enjoy delicious eats and drinks, and to browse the many stalls filled with great gift ideas.

Saturday 6pm – Sunday 6am – Come walk or run around the oval track at ZCBF in Richards Bay in support of the annual CANSA Relay for Life. The 12 hour event is held in memory of those who have lost their lives to battle as well as the survivors. It is also a fund-raising initiative for the CANSA organisation. For just R50 per person, you can support a worthy cause.

Saturday, 7pm – Empowered Women Empower Women is hosting a night of comedy featuring hilarious and talented local comedians. The event is being held at Brackenham Primary School hall. Annalakshmi and Prev Reddy (AKA Aunty Shamilla) will be performing, as will other local talent. Tickets are R120 per person. For more information, contact Lorne on 083 6998265.
