A DRUNKEN party led to murder last week after an argument turned violent and a man was stabbed to death.
The incident occurred in Arboretum on Wednesday evening at about 7pm.
According to police records, four people – two men and two women – were having a party and playing drinking games at a house in Arboretum when a fight broke out between the men.
The women attempted to break up the brawl but one of the men left the house and returned a short while later with four more males.
The fight continued and turned more violent and one of them was stabbed.
All those involved fled the house, including the man who was stabbed.
Two women and one man remained behind in the house and, on venturing outside, they found the body of the stabbed man.
Emergency services were called but the man was declared deceased at the scene.
Four suspects, all men aged between 18 and 53, were arrested and charged with assault and murder last Friday, and have made their first court appearance.
