Another petrol price hike tonight

Motorists to pay more at petrol pumps as both grades of 93 and 95 (ULP and LRP) will rise by 11 cents

MOTORISTS will pay more at the fuel pumps from tonight as the price of petrol will increase by 11 cents a litre.

The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy announced that this will apply to both grades of 93 and 95 (ULP and LRP).

Both grades of diesel (0.05% and 0.005 sulphur) will increase by 26 cents a litre.

The price of illuminating paraffin (wholesale) will go up by 24 cents per litre, while that of illuminating paraffin (SMNRP) will go up by 32 cents.

The department said the average international product prices for petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin decreased during the period under review.

But the rand depreciated against the US dollar, leading to a higher contribution to the basic fuel prices on petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin.
