Mtubatuba protest closes road
Protesters are reportedly moving towards Mtubatuba to hand over a memorandum of grievances
THE R618 between Mtubatuba and Hluhluwe-iMfolozi’s (HiP) Nyalazi gate has been brought to a close owing to protest action.
Motorists wanting to access HiP are urged to use the northern, Memorial gate via Hluhluwe.
The protesters gathered near the entrance to Somkhele mine, but eyewitnesses say the protest is related to service delivery. Disgruntled community members say they have no running water while the councillors and mayors have no water problems.
The protest action is reportedly moving towards Mtubatuba as the protesters plan to hand over a memorandum of grievances to Mtubatuba Mayor, Velangenkosi Gumede.
