POLICE are urging women to be careful about walking alone after a teenager was raped in broad daylight in Mboweni last week.
According to a police report, the 17-year-old was on her way home from school at 2 pm, when she was accosted by a man unknown to her.
He threatened her and forced her into nearby bushes, before covering her face with plastic to mask her cries for help before he raped her and fled.
A case of rape is being investigated by Empangeni SAPS and no arrests have been made yet.
