THE University of South Africa (Unisa) is investigating the leaking of question papers for its May and June examinations.
Unisa, which has a number of campuses across the country including one in Richards Bay, said the matter has been reported to the Commercial Crimes Investigation Unit.
‘The unit will be embarking on an intensive investigation to establish where and how the examination question papers have been leaked.
‘The university will also initiate a forensic audit of our processes to ensure that these are secure,’ the university said.
Unisa has further warned all students not to participate in such fraudulent activities.
‘Any students identified as having participated may be referred to the Student Disciplinary Unit for investigation and disciplinary measures.
‘Should a student be found guilty of contravening the student disciplinary code, their modules will be cancelled and marks will be withdrawn.’
